Getting to/from the chalet.

Our address is 2, Chemin d’en Lys, Route des Ardoisières, Morzine. Technically we’re in Morzine but we’re only 800 metres from the foot of the Les Prodains gondola to Avoriaz, so are located perfectly for access to the best of the Portes du Soleil.

By Car.

Arriving in Morzine, head for the Les Prodains Cable Car. As you come up the hill from the roundabout in Morzine, you will need winter tyres or showchains in the winter beyond that point. When it is busy at the Les Prodains Cable Car, the Gendarmarie redirect people away from the area at the roundabout, don’t be afraid to say you’re staying up the hill.

By Transfer Bus from Geneva or train.

We are 1hr 20mins from Geneva Airport. Most transfer services will ask you for the address and drop you at the house. There are two Postbuses that run from Geneva at 7am and 2pm and that runs direct to Les Prodains. If you are not too pushed for time, a combination of train from Geneva to Thonon, followed by a bus to Morzine town centre is also possible.

By Local Bus from Morzine.

The ‘A’ is our bus from Morzine, leaving from various locations including the Pleney Cable Car and Tourist Information. Our best stop is ‘Les Lans’ which is a few minutes up the hill. If bus drivers are feeling friendly, they will drop you at the driveway if your French is good and you spot the chalet as you’re coming up the hill.  ‘Pourriez-vous vous arrêter juste à la prochaine route sur la droite’ should do it.

Failing that, the walk down from the Les Lans stop, through our road, Chemin d’en Ly from the top, takes about 3 minutes. You can walk down the road and it’s mildly more direct but we wouldn’t recommend it with little ones.

The bus runs every 7 minutes at peak times and every 15 minutes outside of that during the winter season. You can download a bus timetable here.

Getting In.

Winter
The garage door acts as your point or arrival in your ski gear. From there you have a light switch on your right as the door opens to light the garage. You can switch it off as you exit into the house through the room at the back of the garage, the rear light switch is just below the shelf to the right of that door. We’d recommend putting your outdoor shoes in the rack in the hallway that’s slightly warmer than the garage.

Summer
There is a front door, up the steps to the left  as you reach the house. This entrance is used in the summer months and goes directly into the house. We tend to keep it locked in the winter.

Key

The key will have been placed into the lockbox for you. The location and code will be emailed just before arrival!
