Getting to and from the chalet

Our address is 2 Chemin d'En Ly, Route des Ardoisières, Morzine. Technically we're in Morzine, but we're only 800 metres from the foot of the Les Prodains gondola to Avoriaz, so we're perfectly placed for the best of the Portes du Soleil.
Arriving in Morzine, head for the Les Prodains cable car. As you come up the hill from the roundabout in Morzine, you'll need winter tyres or snow chains beyond that point in winter.
When it's busy at Les Prodains, the Gendarmerie redirect traffic away from the area at the roundabout. Don't be afraid to tell them you're staying up the hill.
We're 1 hr 20 mins from Geneva Airport. Most transfer services will ask for the address and drop you at the house.
There are two post buses from Geneva, at 7am and 2pm, that run direct to Les Prodains. If you're not pushed for time, you can also take the train from Geneva to Thonon, then a bus to Morzine town centre.
The free 'A' line is our bus from Morzine, leaving from several stops including the Pléney cable car and the Tourist Office. Our best stop is 'Les Lans', a few minutes up the hill.
If the driver is feeling friendly and your French is good, they may drop you at the driveway if you spot the chalet coming up the hill: ‘Pourriez-vous vous arrêter juste à la prochaine route sur la droite ?’ should do it.
Failing that, the walk down from Les Lans through Chemin d'En Ly takes about 3 minutes. You can walk down the main road, which is slightly more direct, but we wouldn't recommend it with little ones.
In winter the bus runs every 7 minutes at peak times and every 15 minutes otherwise. See the bus timetable.
The garage door is your point of arrival in your ski gear. There's a light switch on your right as the door opens. Switch it off as you go into the house through the room at the back of the garage; the rear switch is just below the shelf to the right of that door.
We'd recommend putting your outdoor shoes on the rack in the hallway, which is slightly warmer than the garage.
There's a front door up the steps to the left as you reach the house. It's used in the summer months and goes directly into the house. We tend to keep it locked in the winter.
The key will be in the lockbox for you. We'll email the location and code just before you arrive.
