Our Family

Who we are

We're a family from Jersey who spend as much time as possible in the mountains! We rent out the chalet when we can't be there and love knowing that other families share our passion for the fresh air and outdoor lifestyle in the amazing Portes du Soleil.

Back at home we're in design and media, so you can see some appropriate magazine covers around the chalet!

The Chalet

Our story

Sautaillet is the Savoyard Morzine dialect word for grasshopper, the name given to this traditional timber chalet by the couple who built it in 1980.

We fell in love with the character of Grasshopper as the perfect, simple, wholesome bolthole we were looking for: a great position, a great view and a warm fire, with enough space for an extended family to enjoy each other's company, play games, drink some wine and laugh in a cosy haven.

It's our family mountain home, where we spend our winters skiing and our summers mountain biking and hiking. When we're not here, we open our doors to visiting families and outdoor lovers who appreciate authentic charm over sterile resort apartments.
